The CHI Health Institute has developed a new series of intensive training experiences for students and instructors. Intensives are offered as a concentrated learning experience, which may be a half day (4 hours), a day (8 hours), or even several days depending on the circumstance. Each type of intensive has a specific focus. These experiences offer greater flexibility to our students, prospective instructors, and instructors of all ranks, by offering intensive personalized opportunities for learning, training, and refinement.

Learning Intensive
This intensive allows beginning students to work more closely with a CHI Instructor in learning a particular movement art. This intensive may be offered by instructors of all ranks.
Refinement Intensive
This intensive allows students to work closely more closely with a CHI instructor in order to further refine their form. This experience is good for students who want to continue to improve their form for their own practice or because they are interested in pursuing certification. This intensive may be offered by instructors of all ranks.
Instructor Training Intensive
This course is required of all Certified Instructor candidates. It allows their form to be reviewed for final refinements and adjustment prior to the practical exam. It also covers basic teaching skills, required and optional teaching tools, and a review of basic principles in preparation for the written exam. This intensive may only be offered by Senior Instructors and Master Instructors.
Senior Instructor Training Intensive
This course is required of all Senior Instructor candidates. It allows them to work closely with a Master Instructor to improve their discrimination of the form so that the Senior Instructor may accurately administer the practical exam to Certified Instructor candidates. Additional topics may be covered to assure a deeper level of knowledge. This intensive may only be offered by Master Instructors or the Master of the Tradition.
Instructor Retreat
This is a chance for CHI instructors of all ranks to get together for common practice, sharing of ideas and experiences, and gaining further inspiration through mutual support. This may be a half-day, day, or several day experience. This intensive may be offered by instructors of all ranks, but must be approved and coordinated through CHI.
Master of Tradition – Instructor Intensive
This is a chance for CHI instructors of all ranks to get together with the Master of the Tradition for common practice, refinement, and inspiration. This intensive may only be offered by the Master of the Tradition in coordination with CHI.
