The purpose of becoming a Taoist Mentor of the Integral Way is to cultivate and refine one's personal energy and to further the balanced and healthy growth of society through spiritual service. A mentor is a student who prepares himself/herself to be a guide and model of the Integral Way and to live a complete life. A mentor has good spiritual qualities including fairness, courage, kindness, courtesy, honesty, generosity, loyalty, and meritorious conduct. A mentor acts according to the guiding principles of harmony and balance at every step with clear awareness of what is being done and how it is being done. Understand that the culmination of an integrated life is virtue.
As a mentor of the Integral Way, a person joins together with other like-minded people who are dedicated to self-cultivation and who wish to provide a spiritual service by guiding others toward the universal essence of all life, which is the way of integration, balance, and harmony. Mentors belong to a network of friends who support one another's spiritual development and effectiveness as guides, facilitators, and teachers.
